T-Mobile and Verizon confirm they will carry the 2018 iPad
Earlier today, Apple held an educational “Field Trip” event in Chicago where it announced many software tools for teachers and students. But the most significant announcement was the introduction of an updated (2018) 9.7-inch iPad with a new A10 Fusion chipset for improved performance and higher-precision digitizer that would be compatible with the Apple Pencil.
Other aspects of the iPad like camera and display resolutions, as well as the physical hardware of the device have remained unchanged.
Both Verizon and T-Mobile have confirmed that they will be carrying the refreshed 9.7-inch iPad when it launches. The 2018 iPad will support faster Cat.6 LTE speeds (the 2017 iPad only did Cat.4 150Mbps) but these numbers are unimpressive considering a smartphone like the Pixel 2 is equipped for Cat.15 speeds, which can theoretically hit 800 Mbps down speeds.
You’re definitely going to want that new iPad on America’s Best Unlimited Network. Of course @TMobile will carry it!! Stay tuned for all the details! pic.twitter.com/GTXvary6fq
