It’s all over! Dinesh Karthik smashed a six off the last ball to help India beat Bangladesh.
Today India and Bangladesh played Cricket match in the Nidahas T20 tri-series final in Srilanka’s Premadasa Stadium. This is the first time in T20 tournament finals when a team won with a Six and for this wining record all credit goes to Dinesh Karthik. An Indian Batsman who’s career is always had been in the shadow of MS Dhoni. After watching today’s match every Indian has the same respect for DK as they give to MS Dhoni.
In a breath holding final, Bangladesh sets Target of 167 runs for India. Shabbir Rahman scored 77 runs off 50 balls while Yujvendra chahal got 3 wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs.
Indian batsman started their inning quite steady, though Shikhar Dhawan got out earlier. Dhawan scored just 10 runs while Team India Captain Rohit Sharma played a significant innings of 56 runs off 42 balls with 4 fours and 3 huge sixes.
Turning Point of the Match
Dinesh Karthik probably played the knock of his life scoring 29 in just eight balls including a six over the Extra cover on the last ball to help India pull off a sensational four-wicket victory.
In last 3 overs, India needed 35 Runs and in the 18th over Vijay Shankar was on the strike. He missed first 4 balls and get a run on the 5th ball. On the last ball of the same over Manish Pandey played it in the air but caught out.
Now India needed 34 runs in just 2 overs and Match Winner, batsman DK A.K.A. Dinesh Karthik came to field for batting.
DK started his innings with 6 and scored runs on next five balls respectively “4 6 2 0 4”. In the final of the innings, Vijay Shankar on strike and missed the first ball which was luckily a wide. On next two balls, both the batsmen took singles.
India needed now 9 runs from 4 balls and Vijay Shankar was again on strike. Indian fans hope to get alive when shankar played it for 4 runs in the third man area, but on the second last ball of the last over he played it high and got out. The only advantage India has now that batsmen crossed the pitch and DK on strike to play the last ball of the match and Indian innings.
India needed 5 runs on the last ball of the match and Dinesh Karthik does the magic with a wonderful flat six over extra cover.
