Tikki is a free app available on Google Play or the Apple App Store that lets you make super cheap international VOIP calls. It’s a good solution for connecting with friends overseas or to make sure you stay connected when traveling. Calls to and from other Tikki users are free, while you can call and text international numbers using your credits. Tikki works even when the receiver doesn’t have an Internet connection and is therefore a great solution for expats who want to call home to countries with spotty or expensive Internet. Tikki has plans for just one cent a minute for several popular countries, including India.
There are some advanced features, as well; for example, you can set your caller ID to show “Anonymous” when dialing out for additional security. The app is simple, reliable, and most importantly, call quality is just as good as a regular mobile or landline.
