SwiftKey Keyboard Update Brings Support For Android 7.0 Nougat Emoji
SwiftKey which is one of the most used keyboard apps has just pushed an update to its stable form of the application which takes Unicode 8 emojis along with it. Unicode 8 was announced alongside Android 7.0 Nougat and moved Android away from the blobs that enhanced our devices for years. In its place, our emojis is more representative and feature round heads for the emoji that resembled people. Android 7.0 is now presented for a bunch of devices with the Nexus phones and we should update the SwiftKey app on our Android to get the full emoji goodness on our phone.
In April, Google introduced the 2d Android N Developer Preview for developers which got new features including Launcher shortcuts, Emoji Unicode 9 beef up, and extra. The Unicode 9 give a boost to approach the OS will get some new human and task emojis together with selfie emojis and face palm. Google started out rolling out the final build of Android 7.0 Nougat with choosing Nexus devices in August.
Android 7.0 added some new emoji, but it also applied “diverse emoji.” That mainly means varying skin tones for the new humanoid emoji. Whatever thing with multiple skin tones will have a drop down arrow. Long-press them to pick from the offered versions. The default version is the bizarre “Simpsons yellow” color. SwiftKey has also made some changes to sync following the recent issues, but these were really involved in the last update.
Emojis is a big deal for those who use them frequently in conversation. Even though Nougat is only on Nexus phones, for now, those users tend to be the most specific about making sure they have access to all presented in the latest OS.
The SwiftKey update also mentions a sync fix which really refers to an earlier update that came out late in August addressing complaints about a privacy breach, with users seeing email and phone number guesses associated with other users. After suspending its sync services, the company re-enabled it but with limited access to the email and phone number synchronization. The company then rolled out a more stable version with the correct phone number and email predictions appearing while typing.
